Having recently visited Long Bay Motor Camp for a brief stay, I came away with mixed feelings about the value proposition it offers. the location is undeniably its strong suit - nestled right on the beachfront in Coromandel, it provides stunning sunset views and a perfect setting for beach activities. Our family cabin was clean and adequately equipped, with a dining area and kitchen, albeit lacking certain amenities like an in-cabin toilet and shower. the communal facilities, while well-maintained, required coin-operated showers and a short walk to access the shared kitchen and outdoor BBQs. This setup may not appeal to those seeking a higher level of comfort and convenience. On the plus side, the presence of a food truck on-site offering tasty meals was a delightful surprise. the surrounding native bush added to the charm of the camp, providing opportunities for pleasant walks. In terms of cost versus luxury, Long Bay Motor Camp leans more towards the budget-friendly side, offering a basic yet comfortable experience suitable for those willing to forgo certain luxuries for the sake of a prime beachfront location and reasonable rates. For travelers prioritizing affordability and natural beauty over lavish amenities, this hidden paradise in Coromandel may just fit the bill.
